This reminds me, a different sort of “Thing Eldrae Might Appreciate” is Diane Duane’s Young Wizards books—it’s the only other series I’ve come across that explicitly names entropy as the ultimate enemy.
Or the creation of the ultimate enemy… but it’s been a long time since I read that series.
