Eldraeic Word of the Day: raitharzik

This is a study in how words are built.

We start with a simple concept:

azik: rock, stone
SUBJECT is a quantity of/is made of/contains rock/stone of type/composition TYPE from location LOCATION

Then someone uses that rock to build something, and we need a more specific word:

tarmazik: brick, building block (from tarm, to shape + azik; a rock-which-gives-shape)
SUBJECT is a stone/brick block of type/composition TYPE and of shape/design PROPERTY

But, of course, buildings aren't the only things given shape by solid, stone-like components.

lethtarzik: bone (object) (from leth, to live + tarmazik)
SUBJECT is a/the bone [structural body-part] of type/composition TYPE performing function PURPOSE at location LOCATION in body of MEMBER-OF

And indeed, nor are people and animals, although now we get quite metaphorical:

raitharzik: natural law (from raithal, cosmos + tarmazik/lethtarzik)
SUBJECT is a/the physically enforced principle/descriptive regularity governing OBJECT in aspect ASPECT, applicable under conditions AMBIENT and in universe LOCATION

elén raitharzik can be translated, for your convenience, as either the standard "laws of nature", or the more poetic "Worldbones".
